Carnegie Summit
After 11 successful years of hosting the National Summit on Improvement in Education, in 2025 the Carnegie Foundation transitioned leadership to a committee of organizations dedicated to advancing educational improvement.
Summit on Improvement in Education
The National Summit on Improvement in Education brings together a community of improvers and innovators who are transforming systems and harnessing the power of continuous improvement and collective action to better serve and empower educators, students, and communities. The annual event is an opportunity for attendees to learn from and with each other as they work towards a future where every learner thrives.
In 2025 two smaller events are taking place:
National Summit on Improvement in Education (Spring)
- San Diego, CA, at the High Tech High Graduate School of Education
- March 30th to April 1st, 2025
- In partnership with a Core Committee
Improvement in Education Summit (Fall)
- Nashville, TN, at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center
- November 6th to 7th, 2025
- Hosted by the National Center on School University Partnerships
Starting in 2026 the National Coalition on Improvement in Education will lead planning and coordination of the National Summit on Improvement in collaboration with the community.
SUMMIT THROUGH THE YEARS
In just eleven years, the Summit community not only increased in size but also grew in thought and practice. The Summit continues to provide for those new to improvement to learn about the productive use of improvement principles, networks, and supportive methods and tools. For those already engaged in improvement, it offers opportunities to present their progress in sessions and at poster receptions. For all attendees, it creates a space for learning about practices that resulted in measurable improvements and achieved ambitious goals for students.
